Long live rag rugs! No more red carpets! Bring me rag rugs to walk on!
The rag rug is a fundamental part of Finnish and Nordic handicraft culture, encompassing both everyday and celebratory uses. Story Rugs is a project comprising training, exhibitions, rag weft cutting events, rug histories and innovative rug designs.
Associations and organizations active in the Turku area have been invited to weave their own Story Rugs. In February we will put together an exhibition of these rugs in Taitokeskus Juselius.
The exhibition is open 21.2.-18.3.2011.
