The Turku 2011 Programme team

The production support service assists projects in the Turku 2011 programme by providing help in organising information sessions, training days and much more. In addition, the support services help the projects when it comes to obtaining the necessary permits, by assisting in building accessible event locations, by coordinating the volunteer work for the Capital of Culture year and by running the 2011 Corner information centre

Research

Research coordinates the Turku 2011 programme projects that study well-being, creative economies and the entire Capital of Culture process. They also conduct resident surveys and work in close co-operation with the Turku 2011 evaluation programme by the University of Turku that will be carry on from 2010 to 2016.

Communications

Communications provides up-to-date information on current events, manages media contacts and markets the Capital of Culture in general. In addition, the activities include maintaining relationships with corporate partners, other partnership networks and tourism businesses in the area.

Administration

Turku 2011 Foundation Board and delegation

During the application period for the European Capital of Culture, the Turku 2011 project had a 2011 team and a 2011 Advisory Board. During the application period, Deputy Mayor Kaija Hartiala was in charge of the Capital of Culture project preparations.
