2011 Corner – Capital of Culture Info, Café and Design Shop
2011 Corner, the meeting place of the Capital of Culture by the river Aura, has closed its doors. The Corner has hosted the information point, café, Design Shop, support service for 2011 projects and the Lippupiste ticket office, which has already stopped operating on the premises.
In its two-plus years of existence, the Corner has attracted 230,000 visits and proven its worth among city residents and tourists alike.
Projects of the Turku 2011 programme have been able to use the Corner’s office hotel and meeting room facilities free-of-charge, and have also received support in the production of the events through things like the issue of permits and practical arrangements. Volunteer activities have also been co-ordinated from the Corner.
The Corner’s Design Shop has served as a project shop in which various designers and manufacturers have displayed their products for a few months at a time. In total, 15 collectives and individual producers have sold their products there.
2011 Corner (2011-Info, Café, Lippupiste & Design Shop) has now closed its doors. We thank all our customers for the past Culture year!
