Polyglot Video Contest Received 101 submissions!
The Polyglot Video Contest submissions deadline was on the 5th of January. We are happy to announce that we received 101 submissions from 27 different countries – view them now on our Vimeo page.
But the contest is far from over. Once we have checked the eligibility of all the entries, next week a month-long voting period will begin, and everyone will be able to pick their favourites. The public together with a professional jury will select 18 (9+9) best videos, to decide which directors will be invited to the “Cine-Boat” filmmaking workshop. As preparation for the workshop, the participants will exchange video letters online.
“Cine-Boat” is an itinerant event taking place in June 2011, during which the young filmmakers will explore the archipelago of Turku by boat and make short documentaries, guided by professional tutors. The special focus will be the linguistic and cultural situation of the Swedish Finns living in the region.
The results will then be presented during a 2-day film festival in Turku. All short films of the project will later be diffused through a DVD compilation and further screenings across Europe!
Help us select the best videos, check www.polyglot-turku.eu next week to vote for your favourites!
