Gothic queen Alvilda – Pirate and amazon
Alvilda, the beautiful daughter of a gothic king who hates to love just as much as she loves to worship Mars, God of War, changes from her feminine clothing to war armour and plunders the Gothic seas with her band of fierce women warriors. Alfo, son of Sagaro, King of Dania, falls in love with this new kind of warrioress and asks for her hand in marriage. After he is turned down, Alfo tries to come up with any possible means of conquering Alvilda, so with his strong army, Alfo follows her. Finally, in the Gulf of Finland, he conquers the Amazonian army. But is he able to use his wits to conquer Alvilda?
In Opera d’Alvilda in Abo the women are strong and byzantine. Riku Pelo and Teppo Lampela, playing the sons of the King of Dania, will become tame in the hands of Alvilda, played by Mari Palo, and Gilde, played by Kaisa Ranta. Music, dance and theatre will come together in this enchanting performance.
The opera will be full of burning love, repressed emotions and passionate longing. Opera d’Alvilda in Abo tells about ancient Turku, the strong Amazonian women of the North, and a royal wedding celebration set in Turku Castle.
