The Memory Room will be collecting memories of River Aura during the summer 2011

During the summer 2011 the Memory Room will be collecting and recording memories of River Aura.  In the Memory Room you can visit the exhibition of River Aura which represents the oral history research made in the Department of European Ethnology at the University of Turku.

During the summer 2011 the Memory Room will be collecting and recording memories of River Aura.  In the Memory Room you can visit the exhibition of River Aura which represents the oral history research made in the Department of European Ethnology at the University of Turku. You can also bring written documents and photographs for the project. The Memory Room is sponsored by YIT.


Turku – Narrated and Experienced studies the themes Cultural Surroundings of the River Aura and Women of the City. The project is a part of European Capital of Culture 2011. The everyday-life memories of River Aura will be collected and recorded by the University students of European Ethnology and History. The Department of European Ethnology and Cultural History at the University of Turku is responsible for Turku – Narrated and Experienced.
