Flux Aura 2011 photography competition

Internetional Flux Aura 2011 evironmental art event's artworks will be created on the River Aura, its river banks and the surrounding areas. Take a photo of one of them and participate in the competition.

The picture can be from any Flux Aura work and you have to take it your self, no studio pictures allowed. You must mention the name of the photographer and ask a permission from the people in the picture. Flux Aura won't use the pictures without the photographers permission.

Fresh and original observations, experiences and comments on the symbiosis of the city, and the river that runs through it, will form the core of the International environmental art event Flux Aura. This is all about artistic experiences within the urban environment. Several artworks – ground art, statues and floating installations – will be created on the River Aura, its river banks and the surrounding areas.

The works will be thematically linked to the River Aura, the flowing water, the city and the life and nature that surrounds the river. Flux Aura includes artistic nesting boxes for butterflies, visual acupuncture for the nature, blocks of stone that reflect the sun and a huge daisy. Giant eiders swimming in the river will sound out their opinion on the state of the Baltic Sea, creatures of light will make their home under the Turku Cathedral bridge and Motive Ships will contemplate the methods of seafaring. An artistic garden of butterflies will be created in the city. Common public buses, street pavements and city lights will also throw surprising experiences.
