CAA in significant arenas

Exhibition in the Turku Archipelago presented in the USA

Contemporary Art Archipelago (CAA) was invited to The Armory Show in New York and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge in March 2012.

At the annual art fair Armory Show artistic director Taru Elfving presented the CAA exhibition project, realized as part of the Turku 2011 program.

In the Open Forum of panel discussions alongside New York-based curator Mark Beasley and the CAA artists Nomeda and Gediminas Urbonas on Friday 9th March.

CAA was reflected on further at MIT in a discussion between Elfving and the CAA artists Renée Green and the Urbonas', who are all currently professors at the Department of Art, Culture and Technology (ACT) at the Institute.

The lecture entitled Archipelago Logic: Towards Sustainable Futures on Mon 12th March focused on the urgent questions of sustainability in artistic and curatorial practice while also paving the way for further collaboration between CAA and the artists.
