Dimensions of the Dark Forest in Brinkkala Mansion
The animated work Dimensions of the Dark Forest will take viewers into a gloomy forest and show them, in a humorous and surprising way, that there is no need to be afraid.
When we are in a dark forest, our mind begins to imagine and visualize because of the lack of light. Darkness combined with the mystical movements of trees, grass and ferns, makes our imagination shift from forest paths remembered from childhood to something supernatural and scary.
A dark forest is brought into town and, though a panoramic projection, the viewer feels that he/she is in the middle of a forest. The illuminated dark forest seems beautiful and not at all scary when the viewer is in a controlled environment with other people.
