The Dancing Tower at Logomo

The work for the 30th anniversary of the Turku Aurinkobaletti (AB Dance Company ), The Dancing Tower, will be a truly unique performance full of imagination and inspiration. Nearly 20 daring performers will look danger in the eye as they reach for the skies on top of a ten-metre high steel tower.

Dancing Tower will bring together dance, physical theatre and musical aspects. The performance will offer true magic, breathtaking tricks, monsters from faraway lands, amazing ventriloquists and the interplay of the opposite elements of water and fire. Dancing Tower is bustling with energy and creativity – the stuff that dreams are made of.

The international major production will bring together artists from Finland, Russia, Estonia and the United States. The AB Dance Company’s regular guest, renowned Russian genius Sasha Pepelyaev, is responsible for the concept and the direction of the work. In addition to Aurinkobaletti, the high-flying performers will include the Apparatus Theatre from Moscow, the Engineering Theatre AKHE from St. Petersburg and musicians from Russia and Estonia.
