Vol.at.ilit.y Dance performance, premiere on Thursday, 20th of October

Creative process continues from one performance to the next

Choreographer Tomi Paasonen direction of Vol.at.ilit.y – Expedition to the Baltic Sea brings new impulses on stage in each performance.

After Paasonen,  the artistic team forms it´s own ecosystem during the rehearsal period.

The whole is influenced by the complex sum of different ingredients. The creativity of the dancers reacts andn interacts with the words and instructions of the coreographer.  The movements get their impulses from sound and staging.

Paasonen often makes changes in choreography and dramaturgy even a couple of days before the premiere. Not until the premiere the performance steps in to the reality between the audience and the performers.

The dancers are Rea-Liina Brunou, Linda Sointu and Kimmo Alakunnas, the sound designer is Kirill Lorech and the costumer is Merja Markkula. Samu Viitanen is in charge of the setup and light designing.

Vol.at.ilit.y dance performance explores water as connective element and its molecular shifts from vapor to liquid and ice. Using water in its different states, both as stage elements, source for musical composition and as a metaphor of human mental states and bonds towards each other, Vol.at.ilit.y combines art, science, technology and nature melting them into a poetic experience.
