Turku 2011 continuation working group collecting suggestions from the public

Come and tell your suggestions for urban space

The Turku 2011 continuation working group is organising open public events during the autumn to collect city residents’ ideas for continuing the work started in the Capital of Culture year. The next event's topics are urban space, architecture and sustainable development on Wednesday 5 October at 5–6:30 pm in Koulu Brewery Restaurant.

Established in May, the Turku 2011 continuation working group has started work to prepare its proposal for implanting the achievements and good practices of the Capital of Culture year into the Finnish cultural field.

Consisting of various cultural actors and specialists, the group will not base its work solely on what has already been done; by contrast, it will be open to new ideas inspired by the year and by the experiences gained. To support its proposals, the working group wants to hear the views of the public as extensively as possible during the autumn.

Come and tell your suggestions

The next event open to all, on the topics of urban space, architecture and sustainable development, will be on Wednesday 5 October at 5–6:30 pm in Koulu Brewery Restaurant’s Bellman Hall. The premises are easily accessible, and a helper is also available.

The event will be attended by representatives of the Turku 2011 continuation working group.

In addition to these public events, day-care centres and schools in the Turku region, for example, will be contacted directly and asked for their ideas for continuation. You can also provide your input online.
