Colourscape is built by young residents of Turku
A team of six young residents of Turku has been appointed to take care on Colourscape and guide visitors. Colourscape will be made up of approximately one hundred colourful sphere-like chambers linked together into a giant labyrinth. The audience will be able to walk through and spend time in the chambers listening to music performances or just being there.
The group will travel to England in early July to learn about the construction of Colourscape, safety and customer service.
The members of the team will be blogging on Colourscape project’s website. In these blogs the members write about their experiences in London as well as work during Colourscape at Kupittaa in July and August.
Colourscape will be opened in Kupittaanpuisto 23.7.
Colourscape is like a giant network of cells or interconnected chambers that bend the colours of light into an intensive celebration – truly a kaleidoscope of colours. You will only discover your absolute favourite colour after you visit Colourscape.
Eye Music Trust from the UK will introduce Colourscape to Finland for the first time. The group specialises in producing audiovisual experiences. Colourscape and the group’s other outdoor performances present music and art in new and interesting ways. In addition to the colour-saturated experience, the group will bring workshops and small scale concerts by Finnish and international performers to the Kupittaa Park.
Colourscape will be opened and concluded with the Music of the Spheres performance on the River Aura, where giant spheres floating on the river engulf the performers.
