Uma Família Portuguesa-A Portuguese Family

A Portuguese Family directed by Cristina Carvalhal. It is a story about a family, but at the same time it brings us important issues of the Portuguese cultural heritage such as Colonial War, the dictatorial regime that the country was under until April 1974, and the country's devotion to Our Lady of Fátima.

The Fado themes that are played in the background create a very emotional general athmosphere in the play, whereas the rhytm and humour in the play draw the audience frequently away from melancholy. The play makes the viewers both cry and laugh.

Performances on the main stage at Turku City Theatre on May 18th at 7.30 pm and on May 19th at 7.15 pm.
