The POLYGLOT film festival will take place in Turku city centre, on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th June 2011. See our trailer here!
Alongside the 6 works made during the Cine-Boat workshop, the programme will include a selection of NISI MASA documentary and fiction short films, to celebrate our 10th anniversary!

Istanbul Express was a crazy cinematographic adventure supported by Istanbul 2010 European Cultural Capital. 50 young cineastes set off from San Sebastián, Tallinn & Turin, crossing Europe by train to make itinerant documentaries during one month... We will showcase 8 of the best.

19:00: EUROPEAN SHORT PITCH / Screening + Q&A (3 Euros)
European Short Pitch (developed from the former NISI MASA Script Contest) is a scriptwriting and pitching project aiming to support the development of young directors and promote the European coproduction of short films. Discover some of the projects which have been realized so far.
SUNDAY 19TH JUNE
15:00: PORTRAITS FROM MALMÖ / Screening + Q&A (3 Euros)
In June 2010, NISI MASA Sweden organised a one-week documentary workshop in Malmö, Sweden’s third city. Filmmakers from 7 countries were invited to make short documentary portraits about a person living in Malmö who shared their national heritage.

18 young European talents - winners of the Polyglot Video Contest - are travelling aboard the “Cine-Boat”, a filmmaking workshop crossing the Turku archipelago during 2 weeks to shoot documentaries about the islands’ communities. Discover the resulting films at their premiere screening!
