Kerem Gibi-35 Years With Nâzim Hikmet

Keren Gibi-35 Years With Nâzim Hikmet brings documentary theatre and poetry together to take the audience on a journey in the poetic world of Nâzim Hikmet, one of the greatest poets of the 20th century.

The play, a collage of Nâzim Hikmet's poems, tells a story of his life, his youth, imprisonment, hunger strike, forced exile, longing for his country, love and humanity that encompassed the whole world;his struggle for world peace. The play also testifies to 35 years of Genco Erkal's journey with the poet. Like Kerem-35 Years With Nâzim Hikmet is staged accompanied by a documentary film which brings Nâzim Hikmet's life to the stage througout images.

Performances at Turku City Theatre, Sopukka stage, on May 20th at 8 pm and May 21st at 7 pm.
