Expedition to the Baltic Sea results as a cross-disciplinar art exhibition

The exhibition consists of five new artworks, reflections about Baltic Sea. The works are results of art expeditions that the selected artists realised during 2010 around the Baltic Sea. The exhibition features the first algae rug of the world, two site-specific underwater soundscape installations and two experimental sailing boats, among other things. Please download the exhibition map here and follow the route, marked by sea gull beacons. You can move from one artwork to another using canoe, bicycle, boat of bus. Admission is free.

Artworks, artists and venues:

Sonic Seascape Terrace / Marianne Decoster-Taivalkoski, Hanna Haaslahti ja Alejandro Montes de Oca.  Two sound-installations one in Koroinen, by the Aura River and another one in Ruissalo Island, in an old limonade kiosk.

Green Matters / Mia Mäkelä, a greenhouse in the middle of Turku University Botanical garden.

Bark Boat / Antti Laitinen,  Wäinö Aaltonen Art Museum hall

Rescue Boat Baltic Herring / Teemu Takatalo&Tommi Taipale and Richard Thompson Coon,  in the sea containers by Forum Marinum centre.
