Día de los Muertos and other festivals of death

The Day of the Dead, All Hallows' Eve and other such festivals are celebrated in various ways in different parts of the world. The Ferris Wheel event at the Varissuo library will give an insight into the festival traditions of the Mexican Día de los Muertos, the Day of the dead, and other festivals of death. The programme includes Mexican music, skull crafting, ghost stories, memorial altars, Calavera Croquis and lots more. Free entrance, welcome!

Culture out loud!

The immigrant cultures in Turku will be presented through the medium of events, exhibitions, storytelling and book talk. The Culture Out Loud! event series is a part of the library's multicultural activity. Free entrance to all library events. Welcome to get acquainted with the literature, languages and traditions in different cultures!

The Turku Public Library arranges the events in collaboration with various associations and other actors.

The Ferris Wheel festival at the district libraries

The theme of the event series The Ferris Wheel is festive traditions in different countries. Now circulating in the district libraries, the programme will include interesting theme parties, workshops, dance, drama, multisensory spaces and lots more.

Traveling With Music: Throat song
