Cots of Darkness

The Cots of Darkness bring light and stimulus into the dark season in the form of two different cot-like artworks. Admission is free and you can drop in to warm up and relax.

In addition, small-scale programme will be offered occasionally in the cots.

Works of art: Honeycomb: Reino Koivula, Bow: Simo Helenius. Turku University of Applied Sciences Arts Academy students Josefiina Kiikka, Jouni Kuru, Eini Sahla and Eero Nives participated in the building of the cots.

Honeycomb
Brahenpuisto Park

Bow
Lönnrotinpuisto Park

daily at 2-6 pm.

Artists:

  • Reino Koivula is a photographic artist residing in Turku. He has been making installations since the end of the 1980s and has participated in many city art projects.
  • Simo Helenius is a sculptor residing in Turku whose public sculptures are mainly located in the Turku region. He was awarded the State Award for Art in 1984.
