C. H. Graun’s Easter Oratorio will be premiered in Finland at Turku Cathedral. Originally written in the 1700s, the oratorio was lost for decades before being revived at a performance in Berlin in 2004. In celebration of Easter and the Capital of Culture year, the performance will be held at the culturally significant national sanctuary, the Turku Cathedral.The event will be organised by the Cathedralis Iuniorum Chorus, the Boy’s Choir of the Stockholm Cathedral, Tallinn’s Baroque Orchestra and the Turku and Kaarina Parish Union. Soloists will include Kaisa Ranta and Essi Luttinen.
