On Friday May 27th there will be a two-hour ACSI Aalto Camp For Societal Innovation workshop by Aalto University at Titanik Gallery. In the workshop it will be explained what ACSI art consists of and why ACSI wants to develop into an art project. The workshop is a part of the PERFORMANSSI 2011 festival program, produced by the Artists' Association MUU.
Aalto University is looking for new ways of responding to social demands to make fast structural change possible. From this ambition a pioneer project Aalto Camp for Societal Innovation got created; an experimental innovation platform which gathers together a diverse group of about 150 people – researchers, post-graduate students, professors, field experts and artists from Finland and abroad. With the experience from the first proto camp (2010) ACSI is expanding towards the art field. Now ACSI is a pioneer project with the motivation to include art and artists in different forms, roles and with different aims. Year 2011 camp will be held in Dipoli, Espoo, Finland in August 24th – 31st 2011.
ACSI is currently looking for, through an open call, artists with interest to take part in this international innovation community. The call is open till June 15th 2011. Further information, contact the producers, developers and curators of the project, Raphaële Bidault-Waddington (rbw@liid.fr) or Krista Petäjäjärvi (krista@stahle.fi).
Free entry.
ACSI is realised in collaboration with Aalto University, Artists' Association MUU, Arts Assambly, Finnish Academy of Fine Arts, HIAP and Reality Research Center.
