The stage show written by Tuomas Parkkinen and Mikko Kouki is an in-depth exploration that will dig into the outrageous world of opera. The performance is a full-length musical comedy spiced with anarchy, a stand-up show and an opera concert all in one.
The show will fast-forward audiences through operatic history as the four opera singers, an actor and a piano player will use their wit to ridicule the pathetic world of opera. The performance will push the limits of human endurance by competing in the “Singing In a Cold Shower” World Championships, by practising the correct etiquette for the lower stalls of the Metropolitan Opera Hall and by learning how to do fake kisses on the cheek during the opera gala intermission. Mwaah, Mwaah!
Naturally, this performance won’t be over until the fat lady sings! Above all, the performance will be filled with the most enchanting opera arias. The overwhelmingly passionate works of Mozart, Puccini and Verdi will be heard in such interpretations that the performance will surely bring tears to your eyes.
The music is conducted by Marko Autio, and the performance is produced by the Linnateatteri Theatre and the Oopperakammari Association.
