"One thousand flowers to Varissuo!" -project invites people to the ceramic flower workshop in Varissuo. In the workshop, the participants will make flowers for the installation, which in the beginning of May 2011 will blossom in Varissuo Familypark.

Workshops are held in the streets and parks of Varissuo as well as in Majanummi Community Centre (Hintsankuja 4) from Wed 27th April until Monday 2nd May from 11 am to 6 pm. The opening of the artpiece will be 7 may.

About the artist group Flora Metamorhicae:

Flora Metamorphicae is a cooperative project including 6 ceramic artists, with roots in Bergen college of applied arts. The idea of the project, was to create a big amount of ceramic flowers to use in artinstallations - indoors, outdoors, in galleries and public places.

The project has been running now for seven years and the 4000 flowers has been traveling through Norway and many european countries where the installations has been shifting form from place to place depending on the sight and the intention of the group. (Please visit: www.florametamorphicae.no)

PS. Coming to Varissuo> Take a bus 32, 42, 12 or 110 and hop of at the Varissuo Shopping Centre. Go inside to the second floor, head out and pass the library. Majanummi community centre is a red wooden building app. 200 meters from the library.
