Musical Sea of Inner Rhythms was a new festival including magnificent artists, sport exercises and pastime for everyone.

Musical Sea of Inner Rhythms offered music and activities almost around the clock. In mornings there were swimming, tai-chi and gymnastics. During the days there were art-workshops.

Musical Sea of Inner Rhythms included 18 concerts. Artists performed above water and audience was in the pool or at the poolside.

- Anything like this has not been seen previously, said Artistic Director Samuli “Teho” Majamäki.

Music of the Spheres Performance

Music of the Spheres performances will open and close Colourscape visit in Finland. Gigantic floating spheres in the River Aura will engulf the performers inside them.

The evening performance during July will feature a huge, transparent sphere floating in the water, carrying carrying flautist Simon Desorgher, who plays a wonderful concerto along the river. With live audio sampling and mixing, the flautist's music will become a full orchestra of flutes, sending waves of sound to the river banks.

Colourscape brings together colours and music

Colourscape, the largest colour labyrinth in the world, has now arrived to Kupittaa Park, Turku. Arriving from England, this gigantic network of spheres is part of the Turku Capital of Culture programme. During its three-week stay, audiences will get to enjoy an incredible world of colours, music and workshops. Colourscape will open to the public on 23 July, and it will remain open all the way until 14 August from Tuesdays to Sundays.

Now making its Nordic debut, Colourscape is a labyrinth of one hundred colourful spheres that bend light to create unique colour-saturated experiences. The network of spheres is dubbed “Festival One” and is the largest such structure in the world, taking over nearly half a hectare of space in the park. When you are inside, you can explore the spheres and listen to music performances, for example. The Turku Colourscape Festival is produced by Eye Music Trust (UK), which specialises in creating various audiovisual experiences and presenting music and art in novel and fascinating ways.

Colourscape is built by young residents of Turku

A team of six young residents of Turku has been appointed to take care on Colourscape and guide visitors. Colourscape will be made up of approximately one hundred colourful sphere-like chambers linked together into a giant labyrinth. The audience will be able to walk through and spend time in the chambers listening to music performances or just being there.

The group will travel to England in early July to learn about the construction of Colourscape, safety and customer service.

The members of the team will be blogging on Colourscape project’s website. In these blogs the members write about their experiences in London as well as work during Colourscape at Kupittaa in July and August.
