The Night Moves club nights will bring the Turku sound to Helsinki

On June 11th, Jori Hulkkonen, Esko Routamaa, DJ Fog and a legion of other electronic music and DJ performers will be cueing, looping, scratching and juggling beats at the Kuudes linja and Siltanen clubs in Kallio, Helsinki.

- Kuudes linja will present a range of electronic dance music while Siltanen will concentrate on indie and pop, says Sampo Axelsson, aka DJ Anonymous, of the Turku Modern Festival fame and the man behind the programme.

Turku has an extensive background in electronic and electrifying music, as the shores of the River Aura were the source of underground music as far back as the 1960s.

Turku 2011 goes Modern

Turku Modern and Turku 2011 set up an afternoon club in the Main library’s inner courtyard. This club was a stage for a face off between Turku-based DJs and their counterparts from Stockholm.

The first edition of Turku Modern raised the roof in Turku in 2009. They returned for an encore during July 16-18, 2010. This year, the festival expanded to include a wider international participation. The top notch line-up had the hottest club sound ambassadors from Finland and abroad.
